Research Focus:
My research interests are on signaling pathways and related cellular mechanisms by which stem cell-like cells from pediatric brain tumors may give rise to multi-passageable oncospheres in vitro, which are tumorigenic in vivo. This knowledge will help to fuel the research to understand the potentially variable response of pediatric brain tumors to different inhibitors of relevant signaling pathways. One of my specific goals is to create cellular resources with oncosphere cultures from pediatric brain tumors that can be utilized as pre-clinical model for developmental therapeutics.
